Sunrise arrives over the Sierra. Sunset drops into the Pacific.

Start on the mountain side while the first light reaches the house. By late afternoon, the open living room, west-facing deck and plunge pool take over. Dinner can move to the rooftop bar and grill without losing sight of the ocean.

Four bedrooms, each with its own door to the outside and its own bathroom. Two families can share this house for a week without anyone queuing for a shower or tiptoeing past a sleeping baby.

Only yards from the ocean but set back from the shoreline, the house has direct access to the beach in one to two minutes, with the Pacific in front and the Sierra de la Laguna behind it.

    Cerritos is one of the few swimmable beaches on Baja's Pacific side. The quieter stretch directly in front of the house also has a lesser-known surf break. Conditions still change by the day, so read the water before going in.

    Cerritos Beach Inn lists The Sunset, an onsite restaurant and bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Day-visitor seating and service hours are not posted, so call ahead at +52 624 267 0250.

    The local beach route reaches the livelier surf area, with Barracuda Cantina, LPH Restaurant-bar, Shaka's and other casual stops nearby. Check current hours before setting out.

    The mapped grocery stop on the main Cerritos road for basics. Its map pin is 1.7 miles from the house in a straight line; local-road mileage is not reliable in Maps because nearby tracks are incomplete. Frutería Hnos. Salgado is farther north in El Pescadero.

How far is the house from Cerritos Beach?

Casa Cumpleaños is only yards from the ocean, with direct access to the beach in one to two minutes. The lively Cerritos area, including beach restaurants and surf schools, is a 20-minute walk. Cerritos is one of the few swimmable beaches on Baja's Pacific side, and the quieter stretch directly in front also has a lesser-known surf break. Conditions still vary because this is open Pacific.

Cerritos Beach Inn is the closest mapped place for a meal, about 300 feet from the house. It lists The Sunset restaurant and bar, but guests should call ahead because day-visitor seating and service hours are not posted. The main Cerritos restaurant area is a 20-minute walk by the local beach route. Mercado del Sol 3 is the grocery stop on the Cerritos access road; its map pin is 1.7 miles away in a straight line, while Frutería Hnos. Salgado is farther north in El Pescadero.

How far are the airports and downtown Todos Santos?

Current Google Maps road routes are about 59 miles to Los Cabos International (SJD), 75 miles to La Paz International (LAP), and 21 miles to the central plaza in Todos Santos. Travel times change with traffic, road work and the local access roads, so use a fresh route on arrival day.
